What is

AWeber

?

This AWeber pricing resource explores the popular email marketing platform’s main features and target audience. We’ll explain how SMBs can garner particular value from the platform, exploring subscription packages and offering commentary on how your organization can make the right choice. You’ll also find comparisons with alternative vendors to help provide an objective summary of AWeber’s market position. Once you choose the perfect platform for your requirements, let Vertice take care of procurement negotiation to access the best price.

What AWeber can do for you

AWeber is an email marketing solution aimed predominantly at startups and SMBs. The vendor is renowned for offering a user-friendly interface and various features helping organizations leverage email marketing without extensive experience or dedicated marketing teams.

AWeber pricing is extremely transparent and scalable, an especially pertinent advantage for growing businesses. Rigid pricing plans for marketing solutions can significantly stifle brand growth potential, so the vendor is commendable for offering such easily scalable packages.

Here are some of the most eye-catching AWeber features to consider:

  • Canva Integration – Organizations don’t need extensive graphic design expertise to create visually striking emails with AWeber’s seamless Canva integration allowing marketers to leverage the popular graphic design suite without leaving their AWeber account.
  • AI Writing Assistant – AWeber offers a built-in AI writing assistant to help craft compelling messaging and beat writer’s block. The platform also has a subject line assistant helping organizations stay concise and maximize open rates.
  • RSS Triggered Emails – Automatically send email updates whenever you publish new blog posts or website content with RSS triggered emails, keeping your audience informed and engaged.
  • Email Automation – Easily craft multi-step email sequences triggered by specific actions with an intuitive drag-and-drop automated workflow builder. This can include abandoned carts, welcome messages, or birthday greetings.
  • Behavioral Automation – Personalize the customer journey by tailoring email content based on subscriber behavior. For example, AWeber helps businesses by automatically sending discount offers for subscribers with abandoned shopping carts.
  • Dynamic Content – Deliver unique email experiences for each subscriber. AWeber pricing can unlock personalized content blocks like names, purchase history, or preferred products, creating a more relevant and engaging experience.
  • Tagging – Organize subscriber lists with relevant tags based on demographics, interests, or purchase history. This allows for hyper-targeted email campaigns that resonate with specific audience segments.
  • Segmentation – Leverage streamlined segmentation tools to create targeted email campaigns for specific audiences based on subscriber activity.

AWeber pricing structures and tiers

AWeber pricing is pleasingly clear and straightforward, with the vendor outlining packages and subscriber volumes on the website. Organizations can quickly estimate a monthly subscription price – invaluable for startups and SMBs with typically much smaller marketing budgets.

Choosing from one of the four AWeber pricing packages has the biggest influence on the overall cost, although all plans become more expensive with increased subscriber numbers. The vendor provides a convenient subscriber volume slider at the top of the pricing page, instantly updating prices for each package depending on the range required.

We’ve summarized the four packages below with prices reflecting businesses with 0-500 subscribers.

AWeber pricing – Free

Monthly cost: $0/month (up to 500 subscribers)

AWeber’s Free package is only available for organizations with fewer than 500 subscribers. It offers one email list, one landing page, and one email automation with basic support features.

Users also gain access to various convenient features, including the drag-and-drop email builder, AI subject line assistant, sales tracking, and integrations with Facebook, PayPal, Shopify, WordPress, and hundreds more applications.

Despite the impressive functionality for a free plan, the one-user limit and AWeber branding probably limits its suitability to solo businesses. We highly recommend taking advantage to get a hands-on insight into the platform, but don’t expect the Free package to be a long-term fix.

AWeber pricing – Lite

Monthly cost: $12.50/month (for 0-500 subscribers)

Lite offers organizations unlimited subscribers, although the price increases once you hit over 500.

This flexibility makes it a great introductory plan for startups growing quickly, and the maximum monthly email sends also reflect this. You can send 10x the amount of subscribers a month, so organizations won’t be caught in the quagmire of having too many subscribers and not enough email sends – something that can be a problem with alternative vendors.

Additional highlights from the Lite package include email split testing, shared campaign imports, one custom segment, advanced message analytics, and additional phone customer support.

The plan can accommodate three users — a feasible option for young startups and SMBs. Lite still includes AWeber branding on emails, so for a more professional sheen consider moving to the Plus tier.

AWeber pricing – Plus

Monthly cost: $20/month (for 0-500 subscribers)

The Plus package is advertised as the most popular, blending the vendor’s cost-effective approach with maximal functionality.

Subscribers receive unlimited email lists, landing pages, email automations, custom segments, and users, creating a truly scalable option for SMBs, mid-market companies, and larger businesses.

Plus also removes AWeber watermarks – a significant benefit for organizations serious about maintaining a professional brand identity.

Additional features include Facebook pixel tracking, website tracking, email sales tracking, behavioral automation, branded click-tracking links, and free migration.

AWeber pricing – Unlimited

Monthly cost: $899/month (For over 100,000 subscribers)

Despite being known primarily as a SMB and mid-market email marketing solution, AWeber can also cater to enterprises with over 100,000 subscribers. The main difference between Unlimited and Plus is the increased volume, offering more capacity for subscribers and 15x your volume for maximum monthly emails.

The $899/month price looks expensive at first glance, and while it will be too expensive for SMBs and most mid-market businesses, it can end up cheaper for enterprises. Other email marketing solutions like Mailchimp can charge per user or implement increased costs for larger email volumes, so AWeber could be more cost-effective at enterprise level.

Additional AWeber costs to consider

AWeber pricing doesn’t have any traditional add-ons, with additional features accessed by subscribing to a more advanced package. As such, what you see is largely what you get regarding price – a useful advantage for budgeting.

Other vendors offering email marketing solutions

Organizations have more success using email marketing platforms that precisely suit their workflows and budget requirements while also appealing to the workforce. With that in mind, we’ve listed three alternative vendors below to help you make the right choice.

AWeber pricing vs Mailchimp

Mailchimp offers far more than just email marketing, with the vendor also providing SMS and social media marketing alongside various automation features. Mailchimp pricing comes in four tiers:

  • Free – $0/month;
  • Essentials – $13/month;
  • Standard – $20/month;
  • Premium – from $350/month.

One highlight over AWeber is that Mailchimp removes branding at a cost of $13 for Essentials customers, rather than the $20 offered in AWeber’s Plus package. The vendor is also more suitable for enterprises due to a more comprehensive feature set, although this can make AWeber easier to use.

AWeber pricing vs Brevo

Brevo pricing is cheaper than both AWeber and Mailchimp:

  • Free – $0/month;
  • Starter – $9/month;
  • Business – $18/month;
  • Enterprise – Custom.

The platform also has a more compelling featureset than AWeber, particularly with additional SMS and WhatApp capabilities.

However, AWeber can offer things like split testing at a lower price point, suggesting it could be the better option for smaller businesses.

AWeber pricing vs MailerLite

MailerLite pricing can be the best option for free plan users, offering 12,000 monthly emails for up to 1,000 subscribers. The other two packages are:

  • Growing Business – $9/month;
  • Advanced – $18/month.

The platform is aimed at SMBs and solo ventures and is the most cost-effective choice for these organizations. Anything larger will likely need a more powerful platform like AWeber.

AWeber pricing – the Vertice verdict

AWeber pricing can be slightly more expensive than its direct competitors, while also offering less in terms of SMS marketing.

You might find better value elsewhere, but AWeber can be worth the extra price for its ease-of-use. Features like the drag-and-drop automation builder and direct Canva integration can be extremely useful, requiring less technical expertise and streamlining the email marketing process without sacrificing quality.

Vertice can also help access a potentially cheaper AWeber price with direct contract negotiations using unique cost synergies. Our database contains over 16,000 benchmarked vendors — information we use to drive costs down wherever possible.

And it’s not just initial IT procurement initiatives that we’ll help you save on.
